Photography Outfit Inspiration | University of Iowa Graduation: Hawkeye Gold & A Champagne Toast

This mood board is for University of Iowa grads so of course it rocks the gold! I included soft blush and champagne/cream options since those can pair well with the Hawkeye gold (something worth considering if you’ll be in photos with friends, roommates, your advisor, etc. on commencement day). Of course, with the Hawkeyes being Black & Gold, I’ve seen a lot of grads choose a little black dress for their graduation photos but my personal recommendation is to select a different color for your outfit for contrast against your black cap and gown.

One more thing to consider: your grad session will include a business headshot that you can use across your professional development platforms such as linkedin and about.me. Depending on what outfit you select for your session and/or commencement, you may want to consider layering a blazer (like this one for example) for your business headshots.
