TEA PARTY PICNIC OR WINE TASTING PICNIC, WHICH ONE?
Not sure which one to choose? Both options will have the same general decor (pillows, picnic basket and blanket, and fresh flowers). I’ll only transition the place settings. Here are the specific differences:
Saturday’s tea party picnic will include a tea pot & up to four cups/saucers, along with a sweet little brass cake stand loaded with tiny treats/cookies. Imagine: an Alice in Wonderland picnic, but make it fancy and a little boho.
Sunday’s wine tasting picnic will include up to four wine glasses, along with a mini charcuterie board. I’ll have sparkling white juice bubbly on hand (sorry, we’ll be on public property so I can’t bring actual wine).
SPEAKING OF LOCATION…
Where WILL these mini photography sessions take place?
Answer: in a field full of flowers within the Iowa City, IA area! In other words: location to be announced.
Here’s why: I’ve had it happen enough times where I scout and select a location for its beautiful prairie/wildflowers only to arrive there on session day and find out they mowed over the area and now it’s a flower-less choppy mess. So I’ve learned my lesson to wait until the date is a little closer.
What I can tell you is that the location will be outdoor, perhaps nestled into some beautiful prairie grass or perhaps among a local sunflower field. Either way, it’ll be full of nature and beautiful.
In early July I’ll announce the location along with a backup location in case we need to pivot within 48 hours of the session.
WHAT IF IT RAINS OR IS TOO WINDY?
If our mini sessions need to be rescheduled for weather, July 29-30 are our backup dates. In this case, July 29 will be the tea party picnic setup and July 30 will be the wine tasting picnic setup and we will keep everyone’s session time booking the same. If this change of date does not work for someone then I will do my best to find a third option and try to coordinate it as best I can with anyone else who’s also having a schedule conflict.
CAN I BOOK PICNIC MINIS OUTSIDE OF JULY 22-23?
Yes! I will be adding this setup to my client closet – everything in my client closet is free to clients during their photography sessions. Outside of the July 22-23 (2023) mini sessions, this setup is available for full sessions upon request. This option can even translate into a date night or, gasp, a proposal! (nudge nudge).
